SEMA Show, Day Two: Silver for Discoverer

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.’s new Discoverer SRX received runner-up distinction in the "Best New Tire" category at the 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.

Nearly 2,000 products in 16 categories were entered in the new product awards competition. The Discoverer SRX premium SUV/CUV tire captured the judges’ attention for its superior innovation, technical achievement, quality and workmanship, consumer appeal and marketability.

"Cooper constantly strives to develop cutting-edge technology providing the best real-life tire performance for our consumers," says Scott Jamieson, director of product management at Cooper.

"It is an honor for one of our tires to achieve this type of accolade in the midst of such tough competition. We believe this is a testament to the consumer-friendly innovation Cooper delivers."

The Discoverer SRX features Cooper’s Wear Square visual tread life indicator, which allows consumers to easily approximate remaining tread life on tires for enhanced vehicle confidence. Additional features include compounding with a new coupled silica; 3D Micro-Gauge sipes; and  StabilEdge and Winter-Edge technology.

The tire is available in six size options. An additional 30 sizes will be available in March 2015.
