Bauer Built buys two stores in Minnesota

Aug. 22, 2012

Bauer Built Inc. has acquired Hanson Tire Service Inc. The purchase includes the company's two commercial/retail outlets: one in LeRoy, Minn., where Hanson's headquarters is located; and one in Preston, Minn.

Hanson Tire, which has been servicing the Midwest for the last 53 years, emphasizes agricultural tire sales and service featuring 24-hour on-the-farm tire service.

President Jerry Bauer says the acquisition is the result of continuing efforts by Durand, Wis.-based Bauer Built to expand its existing operations as part of its overall growth strategy. It provides Bauer Built with an opportunity to significantly increase its sales and service to the agricultural market.

Bauer Built will continue to offer the same services and many of the same product lines as Hanson Tire did, including Michelin, BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Firestone, Continental, General, Hercules, Cooper, Kumho, Goodyear and Titan tires and Michelin Retread Technologies Inc. retreaded truck tires.

Although the ownership has changed, Bauer Built plans to continue to operate the business under the Hanson Tire name. The current Hanson management team, including owners Randy Eastvold and Greg Rollins, along with Ron Eastvold will be assisting the Bauer Built management team through the transition; all but one of the Hanson employees have joined the Bauer Built team.

Bauer Built has been in business servicing the Midwest in the wholesale, commercial, and retail distribution of tires (new and retreaded), batteries, automotive services, and other related products for almost 70 years. With the addition of Hanson Tire, Bauer Built now has 31 tire centers, seven Michelin retread plants and three rim and wheel refinishing operations. The company also operates a Bulk Petroleum business out of its headquarters in Durand.

Bauer Built is tied for 36th on the Modern Tire Dealer 100 list. For more information, visit www.bauerbuilt.com.
