Canadian Tire to use COSTAR software

Dec. 4, 2009

Canadian Tire Corp. has agreed to use COSTAR Computer Systems' Windows-based Shop Management System at 476 locations. The technology will be implemented in 2011.

The system will allow Canadian Tire employees to "quickly see information in a truly integrated fashion, from auto part identification to labor install times, and 'how to' schematics," say Canadian Tire officials.

In addition, customers "will have their automotive history easily migrated from one location to another, allowing Canadian Tire to service that customer 'nationally.' Both customer and vehicle hostory will be able to be forwarded to another store."
