American Tire Distributors (ATD) has opened a new distribution center in Albuquerque, N.M., that will serve customers across New Mexico and the surrounding area.

The distribution center officially opened on Aug. 12, "marking another milestone in the company's ongoing investment in its distribution network and commitment to delivering greater value to customers," say ATD officials, who add that the new Albuquerque facility "provides significantly greater inventory capacity than the previous location, enabling ATD to stock a broader assortment of products to meet customer demand.

"Its expanded footprint and optimized layout support improved productivity and operational efficiency while positioning the market for future growth."

Customers, vendor partners and associates gathered for the Aug. 12 event, which featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, facility tours, a vendor fair, and opportunities to connect with ATD leadership and manufacturer partners.

Attendees explored the new facility and learned more about the products, programs, and solutions available through ATD's network.

"This new facility strengthens our ability to serve customers with the products they need, when and where they need them,” said ATD President and CEO Ira Silver. “Investments like this help us improve product availability, increase efficiency, and create a stronger foundation for future growth.”

The Albuquerque warehouse is one of several investments ATD is making "as part of its Network 2.0 strategy to build a smarter, more agile distribution network," say company officials.

The company, which has more than 100 distribution centers nationwide, opened another distribution center earlier this month in Wilmington, N.C.
