Sullivan Tire Gives to 75 Food Pantries
Sullivan Tire Co. Inc. recently made monetary donations to more than 75 food pantries across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Maine.
"The pantries were selected to receive the donations through nominations by Sullivan Tire’s employees in those states, who are also owners of the company," according to Sullivan officials.
"Supporting the communities we serve has always been at the heart of Sullivan Tire,” says Paul Sullivan, vice president of marketing at Sullivan Tire, which is based in Norwell, Mass. “By donating to local food pantries, we’re helping make sure families in our towns have one less thing to worry about. This is needed now more than ever.
"We’re proud to stand alongside our employee-owners in giving back and strengthening the New England communities that have supported Sullivan Tire for generations.”
According to U.S. Department of Agriculture statistics, 13.5% of all U.S. households were food-insecure in 2023, up from 12.8% in 2022. The situation was even more dire for households with children under age 18, of which 17.9% were food-insecure in 2023.
