Through its EV Root designation, Nexen Tire America Inc. announced the majority of its consumer tire lineup is compatible with gas-powered vehicles, hybrids, plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles.

Nexen's EV-compatible tires are engineered to handle instant torque while being able to manage heavier loads and reduce road noise, say Nexen officials.

“The market is expanding to offer drivers a wider range of powertrain choices, but drivers aren’t all moving at the same pace,” says Aaron Neumann, head of the Nexen Tire America Tech Center. “Whether you’re driving a family SUV to soccer practice, a hybrid on a long daily commute or a fully electric vehicle to the grocery store, you deserve a tire that was designed with your vehicle and your driving habits in mind. That’s what our EV compatibility commitment is about: making sure no driver is left without the freedom of choice in their tire as the automotive industry evolves.”

Nexen says the N'Priz S Grand Touring All-Season, a tire available in 48 sizes for passenger cars, SUVs and EVs including the Tesla Model Y, Tesla Model 3, Toyota Prius, Hyundai IONIQ 6 and Kia EV6, is the star product of its EV-ready lineup. The tire is engineered using Nexen's AI x VI Technology, pairing "artificial intelligence with virtual simulation to fine-tune every detail of the tire's design before it ever hits the road."

Features of the N’Priz S include reduced road noise for EVs and hybrid vehicles, enhanced grip in a variety of road conditions and increased tread wear, according to officials.

Nexen's lineup of EV-compatible tires also includes the N'FERA Sport and N'Blue 4 Season 2 and MTX.
