Falken Team Finishes 9th In The 24H-Race Nurbürgring

June 2, 2016

The Falken Motorsports Team, outfitted with tires from our European sales subsidiary Falken Tyre Europe GmbH, finished in 9th overall, 1st among Porsche vehicles at the 44th ADAC ZURICH 24h-Race Nürburgring.

One of the world's largest touring car races, which was held from Thursday, May 26 to Sunday, May 29  at the Nürburgring, which is also famous as an R&D test track for automobile and tire makers, this 24-hour endurance race is considered by many to be the world's toughest race. At 25km per lap, the race makes use of the Nürburgring's full course, combining the North Course (Old Course), which features an elevation difference of 300m between its highest and lowest points and about 170 corners (including blind corners), and the more modern Grand Prix Course, which is also used for F1 racing.

The Falken Motorsports Team's Porsche 911 GT3 R (991) started out in 35th place out of 155 competitors in the finals of this race. The race had to be interrupted temporarily because
of thunderstorms and hail. With such challenging road conditions, Falken tires showed their outstanding performance such as superior wet/dry performance and high durability. As a result, the team steadily passed other drivers one after another and finished in 9th place, 1st among Porsche vehicles in the field of the top 10 starters.
