Fountain Tire has been named among Canada’s Best Managed Companies, extending the company’s streak to 32 consecutive years.

The announcement was made May 14 by Deloitte Canada and CIBC.

“Being recognized once again as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies speaks to the strength of both Fountain Tire’s 70-year legacy and our vision for the future,” says Jason Herle, CEO of Fountain Tire. “As the automotive industry is reshaped by advancing technology, labour pressures and rising costs, success depends not only on longevity, but also on the ability to adapt and lead.”

Canada’s Best Managed Companies is the country’s premier business awards program, recognizing excellence in Canadian-headquartered companies with revenues of $50 million or greater. The selection process evaluates organizations across four main pillars: strategy; culture and commitment; capabilities and innovation; and governance and financial performance.

“Fountain Tire is focused on helping people get there, safely, sustainably and successfully,” says Herle. “That purpose shapes every part of our business, from our 50/50 ownership model with local store partners to the way we serve our customers, support our associates and invest in our communities. It’s reinforced by partnership, innovation and exceptional customers service — values that have guided the company since 1956.”

"Fountain Tire’s recognition also reflects its focus on industry leadership and operational excellence," say company officials. "Over the past year, the company enhanced its IT infrastructure to advance internal performance, marketing and customer experience; honed its retread offering; and, elevated its safety training programs. At the same time, it responded to shifting market demands by broadening its product mix to better serve retail and fleet customers."

In addition to its three-decade run as a Best Managed company, Fountain Tire is a Platinum Club member, an honour reserved for organizations that have maintained the designation for seven consecutive years or more.
